Ivan Henshell

Since qualifying as an RIBA registered architect in 2003, establishing practice in 2006, Ivan has continuously steered projects encompassing the entire range of building types, from residential designs to creative arts projects to larger scale commercial plans. His clients have also included other architects and designers, who are interested in realising quirky and bespoke designs. Cambridge University trained, Ivan's approach is to balance imaginative and characterful designs with the practicalities of construction.

Having worked in a number of high-profile practices, Ivan applies experience from a variety of architectural fields to direct The Architects. While working at DSDHA, Ivan collaborated on a Stirling prize nominated project, contributing detailed design to an innovative brick facade and heat recovery system for a secondary school. Leading various humanitarian projects around the world has also given firm practical and sustainable design intentions, coupled with a graphic and brand awareness from experience within the creative design consultancy Pentagram.
