Shacklewell School

A new entrance, extension of the staff room and external works provides a new face for the school as a whole. The entrance foyer has a raised lantern roof clad with timber. While upgrading the school in compliance with DDA requirements, a new secure and welcoming entrance is the first impression of the school. The project covered 170sqm of part extension, part refurbishment of the 1970s building.

We aimed to re-introduce a more tactile series of surfaces, with bold lettering applied to a new communal bench, thermowood externally and douglas fir interior finish providing a warm colour to the entrance.
